d. Summary
The rules of life in the deep sea are very different from the rules on land. Despite most of our planet being covered by water, the ocean remains a place of the unexplored mystery of sea monsters like Kraken and Moby Dick. Sunlight can't reach the very bottom of the ocean. A deep abyss is a place between two and three kilometers down. It's totally dark and so cold. The weight of the water creates massive amounts of pressure. Finding small thermal vents at the bottom of the ocean is like finding a needle in a haystack. It means impossible. Kerry Howell a marine biologist told that she's sure there's a plenty more to dicover down there but it's quite hard to get your head around how vast the deep sea is. Ocean is vast and extremely big so it's difficult to really understand.
